Lupe Fiasco has angered some of his fans after telling them that a covid vaccine will be required to attend any of his future shows.

On Thursday, the rapper shared an Instagram post on his account of a news story about Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine going into use this week in the UK alongside the following caption: “Let’s Get Get Get It!!!! You will be required to be vaccinated to come to my concerts.”

The requirement wasn’t favorably received by some of his fans, with responses ranging from “Kendrick would never” and “I used to love your music. But this is the lowest move I’ve ever seen an artist make. Very disappointing,” to “I’ll trust the 99% survival rate with my bodies immune system before a vaccine with 90% success rate thanks” and “Maaaaan that’s wack af, Lupe.”

Lupe has been vocally supportive of a covid vaccine, and encouraging people to get one when it becomes available. In late November, he went back and forth with some followers on Twitter who disagreed with his stance on the vaccine.

“I waiting on y’all alternative. I really am. Everytime I faithfully study this ‘medical black wokeness’ it ends up being a bunch of bullshit promoted by folks selling seamoss shakes and possessing the scientific depth of a bag of flamin hots. Some of us actually stayed in school,” Lupe offered in response to one follower.
